Our Commitment to Accuracy
iCalcApp is committed to providing accurate, reliable, and clearly explained calculators and educational content. Every tool and article published on iCalcApp goes through a defined process of formula verification, content review, and usability testing before it is made available to users.
This editorial policy explains the standards we apply, the sources we use, how we handle errors, and how content is updated over time.
Formula Verification Process
Every calculator on iCalcApp is built using formulas drawn from authoritative, publicly recognised sources. Before a calculator is published, the formula is cross-referenced against at least two independent references to confirm accuracy. The sources we use include:
- Health calculators: World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institutes of Health (NIH), American Council on Exercise (ACE), peer-reviewed nutritional and medical journals
- Finance calculators: Reserve Bank of India (RBI), standard financial mathematics textbooks, established banking formula conventions, Investopedia formula references
- Tax calculators: Official government tax portals and current published rate schedules (CBDT for India income tax, official tax authority rate lists)
- Math calculators: Standard mathematical definitions and formulas verified against academic references
- Unit converters: International System of Units (SI) official conversion factors
After formula implementation, each calculator is tested with multiple known values to verify that outputs match expected results before publication.
Content Review Standards
Blog articles and calculator explanation pages on iCalcApp are written to educate users — not just provide a result. Every piece of content must meet the following standards before publication:
- The formula used is explicitly stated and explained in plain language
- At least one worked example is included showing the calculation step by step
- Limitations and assumptions of the formula are clearly disclosed
- Where professional advice is recommended (finance, health, legal), this is stated explicitly
- Sources and references are cited for health and finance claims
- Content is reviewed for factual accuracy before publication
Update and Correction Policy
iCalcApp content is treated as living documentation. When formulas, rates, or guidelines change — such as revised income tax slabs, updated WHO BMI classifications, or new sales tax/VAT rate schedules — affected calculators and articles are updated promptly.
When a user reports a calculation error or content inaccuracy through our Contact page, we investigate and respond within 48 hours. If the report is valid, the correction is made and the page is updated with the corrected information. We do not delete or hide corrections — we update transparently.
Independence and Conflicts of Interest
iCalcApp does not accept payment from financial institutions, health companies, or any third party to feature, promote, or bias any calculator result. All calculator outputs are generated purely from the mathematical formula applied to the user's inputs. There are no sponsored results, paid placements, or partner-influenced outputs in any iCalcApp tool.
Blog content is written independently. We do not accept sponsored articles, paid reviews, or affiliate arrangements that influence the editorial content of calculator explanations or educational guides.
Disclaimers
iCalcApp calculators provide mathematical estimates based on the inputs provided and standard formulas. They are designed to be informative and useful for planning purposes. However:
- Finance calculators do not account for lender-specific fees, creditworthiness, variable rate changes, or individual tax circumstances. Always confirm financial decisions with a qualified financial advisor or your bank.
- Health calculators use population-level formulas and cannot account for individual medical conditions, medications, or clinical factors. Results are not medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional for personalised health guidance.
- Tax calculators are based on published rate schedules and may not reflect the latest amendments. Always verify tax liability with a chartered accountant or official tax portal.
